f you haven't made the drive out to Ada to discover one of the area's best kept secrets, Michigan's only Turkish restaurant, you certainly don't know what you're missing. A cozy, semi-casual dining area with an inviting atmosphere accented by Turkish pillows in the booths and the art on the walls gives a vibe of a big city establishment. Zeytin has hit its mark with online raves about its shish kebab, made with fresh meats such as lamb, beef, and chicken; all marinated at least eight hours before serving. Priding itself on offering a full menu, featuring sixteen different appetizers and twenty-two entrees, most of the items are made in-house from scratch with fresh ingredients. Quite an accomplishment as you look over the menu, which features a variety of items such as Grilled Chicken Chops, Lamb Shank, Stuffed Eggplant, Halibut, Flamb, Cheese Saganaki, and Iskender. The Baklava is to die for, the Sutlac (rice pudding) is heavenly, and the Cream Caramel is delightfully rich. But the food is only part of the story. The full bar features an international selection, including an assortment of Turkish beers and wines you won't find anywhere else in Michigan. An outdoor patio provides the perfect relaxation spot for a leisurely afternoon or evening. Coupled with moderate pricing. Appetizers range from $6 - $9 and the entrees are $13-$21. Zeytin Turkish Restaurant is a destination spot well worth the drive.
